8A– Solving The Problem
I would like to open up a breakfast restaurant called "Stacked" that is comparable to the set-up of places such as Grill Fresh and Chipotle and is open 24 hours in Gainesville. This concept would allow people to have breakfast food at any time in a more efficient way and would let them get exactly what they want at the time that they want. Ideally, this restaurant would open Downtown so that it can be a trendy place during the day and a place that people go to after a night out during the late hours. A rough idea of how pricing would work can be set up based on the following categories:
Bases:
Pancakes
Waffles
French Toast
Biscuit
Regular Toast
Omelette (customizable)
Topping:
Eggs any style
sausage
bacon
turkey bacon
Sauces:
Flavored syrups
whipped cream
peanut butter sauce
nutella
butter
cream cheese
jelly
Depending on how much of each category people want, there will be different pricing sets. Additionally, I would like to market and design the place in a very fun way included stools that are shaped like pancake stacks, egg lights, cool paintings on the walls, and special celebrations for birthdays/sign nights/ etc. I am very passionate about this idea and look forward to expanding on it over time.

With this assignment I can see that you have put a lot of thought into your solution. Would the bases be the set price, and then everything else is included in that price? Chipotle sells their chicken and steak bowls at certain prices, and then the other toppings are "free," the exception of course being guacamole, which is infamously "extra." I look forward to seeing how your idea grows throughout the semester.
ReplyDeleteHey Emily,
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you know what you are doing, especially having a name picked out and a menu! I like your design ideas and believe this would be a really cool spot in downtown Gainesville. It’s a good idea of having categories of food and then piling up anything you want on top. I hope you stick with it! Great job.
I absolutely love the name that you came up with for the late-night breakfast restaurant. Not to mention, you did a great job recognizing that it would need to be centered around areas that have high traffic at night. Downtown or midtown would be great options for choosing a location, but the increased rent prices will also have to be a contributing factor. As i stated in my previous comment, the business will need to set itself apart with clever marketing and high quality food. I think that your idea for the design of the restaurant will draw people in and make it more likely to return. I would like to see an open-concept kitchen that allows the customer to watch the griddle going to ensure everything is fresh.
