22A – Elevator Pitch No. 3
1) The pitch. Same as last time, 1-minute long. No Web cams. No sitting. Be dynamic! Upload the video to YouTube (as you do with all of your videos) and post the link.

2) A reflection on the feedback you received from my last pitch:
I was very grateful to receive such detailed feedback and positive comments. One of the things that stood out to me was to stand for my pitch and dress in a more professional attire. I agree that standing would make me seem much more confident and credible on my idea. I was also really glad to see that people enjoyed my personal comments on late night snacks and attempts to make the post more relatable. I made sure to continue these comments in my new pitch in order to seem knowledgeable yet engaging to my audience.
3) What I changed based on my feedback
I felt much more confident giving this elevator pitch because I knew the material much better and developed a greater passion for it. Also, standing up made me feel more secure and as if I was pitching to a team of business executives. I still need to work on memorizing my key points a little more but I am happy with my progress.

You used the feedback that you received from the last two Elevator Pitches to improve your latest attempt, and it shows! You stood in front of a plain background which minimized the amount of distractions, and you spoke loudly and with confidence. I also found that this time around I knew my own pitch better and felt more comfortable recording it. Great job with your pitch and your reflections!
ReplyDeleteHey Emily,
ReplyDeleteI definitely see improvements from your first and second elevator pitch. You dressed up nicely and you were confident in what you were saying. I feel like once you have your pitch memorized, you will be ready to go. I like how you were standing this time too. What helps me memorize is just repeating it out loud over and over and even recording myself until I get it memorized. Nice job!
Hey Emily, I really liked how you took the time to reflect upon what you thought could improve as well as outside feedback. Standing up and dressing in professional clothing gives off confidence and a sense of knowledge about the subject. In addition, I think that your pitch has some really great components that kept me engaged. In terms of improving, I believe memorizing your pitch and repeatedly practicing will help you improve further. I think that you should practice in front of a mirror to see how you utilize gestures and body language. Don't be afraid to critique yourself!
